I don't think Trump has any chance of winning this in 4-5 weeks like he thinks

And since we simply can’t afford all this government (war)… we can’t afford to fight it for very long. Prices of everything are too high for Americans as it is. The weapons Trump is using are ridiculously expensive. The middle class just can’t afford it.

Morning, Nick.
Hope to find you and your loved ones well.

Nick, it is my opinion, I think the question is, why did America’s commander and chief drag America into a war in the middle east, with Israel leading the way so I read, weather they could afford it or not?
Trump promised, “No more endless middle east wars to get elected.”
They planed for a title, “Operation Epic Fury”, but did not bother to inform the American people until after the fact.

Even the golf states asked Trump not to start a war but again, did not bother to inform the American people.

War is typically driven by a complex mix of motivations.
Iran was not an imminent threat of any kind to the USA nor its people.
Now they are.

Since 2025, the United States has conducted military strikes and bombings, primarily under the second Trump administration, targeting Iran, Yemen (Houthi rebels), Syria, Somalia, Iraq, and Venezuela. Major actions included 2025 strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, 2026 strikes on Iran, and anti-drug/militant operations in Venezuela and Yemen.

Most people in the middle class and below can’t for sure because of what the war causes.

  1. Oil Prices Are Surging — the First and Fastest Shock

Higher oil → higher diesel → higher freight costs → higher grocery prices.

You’ve seen this cycle before: energy shocks ripple into everything from heating oil in Maine to the price of a loaf of bread.

2, Inflation Is Getting a Fresh Push Upward

Goldman Sachs estimates:

+0.2 percentage point boost to global inflation at current oil levels

+0.7 percentage point if oil hits $100

0.1–0.4 percentage point drag on global growth depending on severity

Morgan Stanley adds that higher gas prices will:

Fan consumer inflation

Slow household spending

Increase political pressure during the U.S. midterms

This is the kind of squeeze that hits retirees and working families hardest — the people who don’t have room to absorb higher costs.

  1. Defense Spending and U.S. Debt Will Rise

A prolonged conflict means:

Higher defense outlays

Larger federal deficits

Upward pressure on long‑term bond yields

Higher yields → higher mortgage rates → tighter financial conditions for everyone.

It’s this kind of thinking that keeps Canada in the “Second World” category, with nary a chance of ever becoming a “First World Superpower”!

The US can afford it with the tariffs and other revenue we will generate from Canada.

He certainly did and now he is ending the 47 year old “endless war” with Iran.

Sure let’s inform the whole world we are about to decimate Iran so Iran can properly plan to fight back. That makes so much nonsense!

Here we are again more claims without facts. Since you are in the heads of every other “golfer leader” in the world can you please provide specific interviews with “golfers” where they stated they did not want another “golf war”?

Jeez stick with trying to make sense of your every day life instead of talking about any “complex mix of motivations”. If you’re not trying to use $25 words improperly you’re trying to use $50 thoughts you have no inkling of.

Are you able to actually come up with an original thought rather than parroting severely TDS afflicted, Loony Left talking points?

Yes we finally have a POTUS with balls to stop kicking the can down the road on the many problems around the world that are threatening our people. If your Prime Minister Mark Carney had even one ball he would join in to help decimate the leading sponsor of terrorism around the world. Of course I suspect he has no balls and most likely calls himself “Non Binary”, uses the pronouns “puss” and “cake”, wears a dress, and carries a box of tampons anywhere he goes!

Are we tired of all the winning yet!

This is where we are going to disagree.

There is no universe where a nuclear Iran is a good thing. Every president has kicked this can of manure to the next president. Finally…finally, we do something about this malignancy that has been spreading in the middle east for years. There was never going to a time to deal with Iran that wouldn’t be painful, but in the last twenty or so years, this is arguably the best time to finally remove this tumor. The question is, can we completely remove it? Though history says “Unlikely,” does that mean we should just throw up our hands and say “Que sera, sera?”

Honestly Robert, that is head-in-the-sand thinking. Iran has been killing Americans for years. If you don’t think attacks by their proxies aren’t Iranian, you just aren’t paying attention. We just had a conviction of a would-be assassin funded directly by Iran. Most Democrats including Kamala, called Iran a direct threat until Trump moved on them.

There are so many positives by taking down the Iranian regime that it’s hard to compare the anemic negatives. Even if another anti-American regime takes over, which is likely, they will be so degraded that it should be many, many years if ever, they become a threat to us or their neighbors.

One of the biggest but rarely considered positives, is the effect this operation is having on China. China has been moving aggressively to position itself to be the dominant power on earth. If that is a positive in your view, once again we have 180 degree opposed opinions. There’s no world where I want China dictating anything to us. Venezuela and now, Iran has sobered the China leaders who thought they were on a roll toward global domination. In my world, that’s a good thing.

There’s certainly a possibility that we or Trump get stupid. Bush got stupid. Clinton kicked the can. Whether Obama was stupid or just an American hater is fun debate, but not so debatable that he piled stupid on top of Bush’s stupid. Biden…was Biden. A new description for being stupid, is “Going Biden.” Maybe we’ll look back and lament that Trump shoulda-woulda done this or that, but with what we knew and know at this moment, this looks like a triumphant game-changer-for-the-best move.
On the flip side, it’s good to have contrarians to consider all sides of the arguments. No matter the topic, there are always opposite views.

Wow Dude in the car was a typical Loony Left whose head was exploding! That was actually entertaining. Would have been better if they tased his ass and we got to see him spas around like a Loony Lefter!

The question that should be asked is, “How much more will it cost [in lives also] if we let Iran get the bomb?” It won’t be less and no one can even imagine how much more, so the solution is: suck it up and do it NOW!

Well, I’ve always hoped Iran could get short-range battlefield nukes. Our soldiers are tough, but they aren’t radiation proof. The U.S. never attacks nuclear-armed nations. They just don’t. If they did, we’d already be in North Korea. Nukes work to keep them from trespassing way on the other side of the world where we don’t belong.

I would simply prohibit Iran from having ICBMs that could reach us. But we want them to have short-range nukes to keep our military from attacking them. Remember, the U.S. military slaughters women and children by the tens of thousands in countries that never did anything to us, but only in weak countries that don’t have nukes. Worse, they typically then refuse to leave. They pissed away trillions in Iraq alone, stayed there 20 years, and then gave that bill to our kids to pay. They have to be stopped and short-range nukes would stop them.

I’m opposed to war, trespassing onto other peoples lands, and financial waste.

Sure, Iran is horrible to their women and likely sponsors terrorist acts. We’re guilty of that too. But Iran hasn’t attacked or invaded a sovereign nation in 400 years. We should be more like Iran in that particular regard.

Are we! According to my history women have had the vote since 1919, Hold many prominent education positions as well as corporate power seats and government elected positions. You can list no terrorist acts the USA sponsors.

It doesn’t need to. it sponsors terrorist organizations to fight for it by proxy. Iran has been dirty since 1979.

But you don’t mind Iran terrorizing Israel (allies) and committing genocide against Jews. You just want to watch others fight and hope it doesn’t touch you. Evil loves people of inaction. They are its strongest supporters!

It looks like Cuba’s next in line. I didn’t think they had any nuclear weapons.

I get the point you’re making about deterrence and the dangers of endless interventions, but giving any unstable regime nuclear weapons—short‑range or otherwise—creates risks far beyond U.S. policy. Nuclear capability isn’t something you can neatly limit once it exists, and historically it tends to escalate regional aggression, not reduce it.

**Iran’s lack of conventional invasions doesn’t mean they’re passive; they project power through proxies, missiles, and covert operations. And while U.S. interventions deserve scrutiny, equating that with Iran’s sponsorship of armed groups isn’t an apples‑to‑apples comparison.

If the goal is reducing war and financial waste, there are safer and more realistic ways to restrain U.S. interventionism than nuclear proliferation. Deterrence is real, but nuclear spread has a long record of backfiring on regional stability.

Yeah but this Iran Invasion isn’t a war.. LOL.. unless you ask Trump

And after they have nukes, you would do that…how? Hell, until Trump, we weren’t even stopping them from developing nukes, much less developing long range delivery systems.
Isolation is a difficult policy for a country that has something desired by another country.
Switzerland has gotten away with practicing isolation. Not even Hitler thought some nice scenery and watches were worth a fight.

Very different for us. Everybody is jealous of something we have or do. Jealous of our wealth, our freedom, our strength, our success, our power, our leadership, and more. The religious leadership of Iran has or had all of that jealousy, plus a duty to convert, enslave, or kill us. Iran declared us the Great Satan. Tough for a religious person to ignore Satan.

There would be only one outcome. War. War with a nuclear armed Iran or one now with a conventionally armed Iran. Trump chose wisely. Even if this gets worse before it gets better, a future war with a nuclear armed Iran would be far, far worse. Hard to know the future, but wistfully thinking that a nuclear Iran could be controlled and wouldn’t act against us, seems naive.
