I Joist to I joist mounting

This photo is where the basement stairs end and you enter the basement. It appears the I-joist is on a hanger with only two screws at the top. A builder told me they use a wrap around hanger that is secured to the other side and the flooring also holds it in place. I could not determine if it was a wrap around style. I have seen where they use a standard joist in this area and it is mounted with a hanger. I have not seen it done like this before.

Your picture is not enlargeable but may be one of these:

(Some need backer blocks.)

Thanks, I just never seen this in my area.

I was able to enlarge the photo

Great. Post the enlargeable one here.

Yeah, gets blurry…

I see it done this way quite a bit. They look like one that is in the graphic that @lkage posted. Top row, center image. They should be nailed to the top of the joist and sandwiched under the subfloor.

Yeah, could be. And if true, backer blocks are required and I can’t see them in Kenneth’s picture,

Could be a different model or brand, idk, can’t tell without a clear picture.
