Hi. I am looking for information on infrared training courses. Want to know if a infrared camera is needed to take the Building Science and Infrared Thermal Imaging Course. Also if there are other courses that are helpful to take? I have completed the Infrared Thermography Inspection Training Course and know that the Green Building Course is also recommended. Appreciate any guidance.
No, and often they have imagers to try out at the classes.
Get your Level-I and Level-II at least, depending on what you are going to use the imager for.
Appreciate the response Ikage. There are no live classes to try out the infrared cameras that I am aware of due to covid. Also I have not seen a level 1 or 2 class on the internachi website. Am I missing something?
Hope this post finds you well.
Larry has a great point, Larry’s The Best!, but there are other bonafide IR applications out there besides Level I-II-III training.
Distance Application course training.

- Home & Building Inspectors

If I am not mistaken Infraspection Institute offer a discount to InterNACHI members for Home & Building Inspectors distance course.
Maybe we will be fortunate enough to have Jim Seffrin pop by and tell InterNACHI members about the exciting courses Infraspection Institute offers.
@cmcguire Covid…mea culpa…I don’t know of any live classes due to Covid.
Appreciate the info Larry & Robert. Infraspections does offer “IR Inspections for InterNACHI Home & Building Inspectors
Distance Learning” course for $295. Once completed it qualifies the inspector to use the Internachi IR certified logo. Class is 16 hours and is applied to internachi’s furthering education requirements as well. Thank You for your guidance.
Take all the free ones Flir has to offer.
Thnx Roy. I will check them out. Do you know by chance if taking the free Flir courses qualifies an internachi inspector to use the IR Certified logo?
Take the InterNACHI IR course to get it’s certification.
What he said.
Thnx. Already took that course. In that course it is also recommended to take the green building & building science course as well as furthering education. Just trying to make sure I am properly educated before putting the money into an IR camera. Thank You everyone for contributing the useful information.
