Hi to all,

As you may have noticed thereof to new links just above the main message board area the first one is the continuing education log, and the second one is to the photo gallery.

I would invite members to take a look at this if you haven't already seen it and if at all possible to spend a little time uploading some of your choice home inspection pictures into this database. I'm hoping to be able to use this resource in various educational projects and would greatly appreciate your help in developing this gallery.

In particular I would love to be able to use more photographs in the question of the day series, and also to be able to include pictures in our new online inspector exam, I'm really looking forward to being able to write some highly situational questions based on real inspection photographs of problem areas.

Regards

Gerry

I’ll try to get some time to upload some photos, but it is tedious with only being able to do ONE at a time.

You might get more uploaded if you can offer the option to do FIVE or TEN at a time. Other sites do. So can we. Then I could select the 5 or 10, enter the requisite info, and go on to other things while they were uploading.

It wouldn't be quite so tedious.

Hi Erby,

thats a good point I will ask Chris about that possibility, it may be a bit of a catch 22 as when I upload multiples to report host I have to resize them first, our system does not need that, anyway I'll ask ![icon_confused.gif](upload://qv5zppiN69qCk2Y6JzaFYhrff8S.gif) ![icon_confused.gif](upload://qv5zppiN69qCk2Y6JzaFYhrff8S.gif)

The amount of effort it would take to set up multiple uploads wouldn’t make it worth it. I’d have to reprogram the entire system that processes the images, resizes them, moves copies to specific folders, updates the database, et cetera… You have to type in new information for each item anyway, so you’ll have to take a little time for each picture. Uploading files all at once and then typing the titles and descriptions all at once might be a bit more convenient, but it would take the same amount of time as doing them each separately. Maybe sometime in the distant future, but not right now…

Gerry,

On resizing, here's an easy frequently used resizer that also does batch conversions that is compatible with systems other than Windows XP.

Irfan View 3.85
