Inspectors weigh in here

Something seems off here, but is it OK?

Well: it’s not physically secured.
Depending on the equipment, the temperature may pose a burn risk.
And some kid could hang out warming their hands and ingest fumes.

But if you’re good with personal responsibility than maybe its lesson learned? At least it’s 3 feet from an operable window.

Is that for a furnace, water heater or maybe a clothes dryer?

If it’s B-Vent for a furnace or water heater it needs to go above the roof line. Can’t terminate horizontally.

I cannot see any application, dryer, bath exhaust, direct vent, mechanical vent, range vent or class B where this would be OK. There would be one or more defects under each category.

Whatever that is for, it’s f.cked up. Needs to be corrected and installed properly for the intended purpose.

It needs an extension to the sidewalk to help melt the snow.
