Insulation essay by Adam Beazer

Morning, Lon.
From my humble understanding, Grammarly helps catch common mistakes with sentence structure —like run-on sentences, sentence fragments, passive voice, and more…

I made the mistake of not proof reading it before I posted it. The auto correct can sometimes play trix.

Upon reading the article on Inspecting insulation of existing crawl spaces. I came to the conclusion that moisture is the largest problem with crawl spaces. No matter the type, Whether it being vented or conditioned. The crawl space needs to be sealed water tight with no less than 6 mil plastic with water vapor seal tape at the seams. And it needs to continue up any wall or colum 6".

When you’re in Georgia and other Southern states where humidity is high and/or allot of rain fall… having vapor barrier in the crawl space can help prevent organic growth

I am in central Florida. Wait until you’ve done a couple thousand inspections and then tell me if it’s common or not

Air flow and soil conditions (moisture content) seem to be the “bigs”. Vapor barriers have been required in GA for a long time, but there are portions of the state where it is not enforced or needed. (Georgia Florida Line :notes:)

Yes, definitely a regional thing.

We’ve all done it. Catching each other at it is simply a reminder to be more vigilant :+1:.
