Is this hip or non-hip?

QUESTION:

IN CALCULATING HIP / NON HIP FEATURES OF THIS ROOF HOW WOULD I DRAW THE LINES SINCE THE ROOF IS SHARED BY 9 OTHER OWNERS? IF I ISOLATE THE OWNERS ROOF THEN THERE IS LIKE AN IMAGINARY 85’ LINE ALONG THE RIDGE. WOULD I HAVE TO MEASURE AND CALCULATE THE MASSIVE ENTIRE ROOF? WHAT FEATURES SHOULD I LIST IN THE HIP CALC, AND WHAT ABOUT NON HIP? I RE REVIEWED THE CLASS BUT THE EXAMPLES ARE NOT VERY HELPFUL IN THIS INSTANCE. ANY HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED!

I would say the entire unit has a combination of hip and gable styles. Then say the section over the client’s unit is hip. I would concentrate on the roof sections that directly affect the clients unit.

I do not do wind mits, so this is a question for you and everyone.

Are these not gables?

I think you have to figure the building as a whole. Since they are all connected, if one roof tears off, it could affect the others.
But I am not 100% sure either.

I think A. from the WM form would need to be answered.
