You do it here every day. You shine your light, knowledge, and sources to counter David’s position. You have every opportunity to win the argument. Imagine if you were banned for saying that the election was fair.
Free speech has people really really upset. Not something I ever expected. How do we rally together as a country if such a core value has deteriorated? What is our military signing up for if not primarily to defend the freedom of expression, freedom of the press and freedom of religion?
I sit back and watch our media, our law makers and our acquaintances fiercely attack and criticize those who have the influence to preserve free speech. They actually consider these actions self serving despite the obvious risks involved.
In follow-up, I am convinced the support for speech moderation is wholly a product of the left and is mainstream, not fringed.
If you take the time to listen to our lawmakers it will become very clear who supports institutional/government control of information and the lengths they will go to attack those who advocate for free speech. Leftist lawmakers will use a number of arguments, angles and attacks. Words such as safety, security, misinformation, Russia, intelligence community, etc. will be skillfully inserted into their arguments as they paint the authors of the Twitter files and Elon Musk as bad actors.
In reality, the authors and Musk pulled back the curtain and exposed everyone. What should be celebrated as a courageous moment in the advocation of free speech was instead bogged down in a cesspool of bureaucrat self preservation of power and tribalism.
