May I ask, how does Mark Zuckerberg follow Nick Gromicko in freeing up censorship on Facebook or is Nick trolling for clicks?
All Zuckerberg is doing is sucking up to Trump to avoid regulations and Taxes.

To be fair to Zuck, he is smart enough to know how to play the game. He knows how to make Trump purrrr. Trump will do whatever you want if you stroke his ego a bit.

My point has always been, that the stinking heap of conspiracy and misinformation is not
monopolized only by those you disagree with politically. Some sources are just better at packaging it.
Legitimate sources verify info before posting/publishing it. Social media is different, in that anyone can post anything with zero verification. And the more outlandish the claim, the faster it spreads across multiple different platforms, even right here on this one. It would be nice if people could have a little self control and verify before spreading, but obviously that is not the case.

Agreed. Who’s legitimate? God knows legacy media, behind their alphabet logos, posted crap consistently without verification, filled with bias and complete lack of journalistic standards.
Is that a social media thing? If so, where do they do it right?
Truth is, most of it sucks. News is dying. Even the news is admitting it.
I don’t blame the platform, I blame the journalists. It is not good intentions gone bad or understandable errors. It is deception, laziness, bias, etc. Which is the same thing you complain about. You just like their brand.

Unfortunately, much of the misinformation, lies, and conspiracy that spreads on social media is done with bad intentions. As an example, just over 4 years ago, a huge misinformation campaign launched by a sitting president, and perpetuated through social media, resulted in a violent mob attempting to invade our Capitol, murder members of Congress, and stop the peaceful transfer of power.
Same with COVID-19, it locked down our country, suicides increased dramatically, people died alone, kids lost their education, and they entered a depression. Businesses shuttered to never reopen, vaccines harmed people and treatments were banned. Helpful information was removed from public discourse by back channel media control. It was a real shit-show.
I’d say it is not something to be controlled by censorship. In fact, the more sunlight, the better.

Targeted disinformation and conspiracy started by bad actors, and spread by the ignorant, can be exposed by shining a light on it, I agree with that. Allowing it to go unchecked on social media is not what I would call “shining a light on it” though. I’m a fraid I don’t have a solution though either. Certain factions of our society have seen the power this method can have, and the genie can’t be put back in the bottle, lol.
