Marketing my buisness

I was wondering if anyone can give me some guidance on marketing my buisness specifically mailing out a letterhead to realtors offices. Should i mail it addressed to the realtors office or should I mail to the location with attention to a person on the envelope?
Example:

ABC reality
123 sunny Dr
Jefferson, OH 44047

Attn: Jane Smith

Welcome Gregory!

Not trying to be a smart ass, but there is a difference in “Realty” which our business is based on and the “reality” of understanding your market, and who to market to.

It really doesn’t matter, it’s going to fall into the trash bin like a homesick brick.

I figured as much. Is it worth mailing out letterheads or is there a better way to get my name out there?

Whats the best way to market with a letterhead?

Market to your customers. Real estate agents are not your customers.

If you want a cheaper approach, most all realtors’ office list their agents on their website. Almost all agents have their email contact. Make a nice introductory email with a single page brochure that looks profession and one that you can attach within your email. Little to no cost, however as Matin stated, it too will probably end up in spam or deleted. The good side is you didn’t come out of pocket like you would for printing and postage.

For which is the best answer so far. RE agents are a source, but not your customer/client.

To market to customers is that where i would look at the mls listings and mail them to that address?

I don’t think that would be possible Gregory. I recommend a lead system to get your business rolling. This recommendation will no doubt create pushback on this forum. It works for some and does not work well for others. You’ll need to find your own path and see what works for you.

There are so many variables. It depends on your market.

I’m not intimately familiar with the program, but the USPS has a way for you to target a neighborhood. Maybe pick a brand new neighborhood and market the 11th month warranty inspection.

When you first started out how do you market to your customers?

With Martin, Horse and Carriage…

You can search the forum there are a number of lead systems in place. Home Advisor and Google ads come to mind.

Will they even open the envelope and read it?

Probably not. Home inspectors begging for work at real estate offices are dime a dozen. They see these guys coming in a few times a week.

They have their own in-house inspectors that don’t find any defects. Nobody wants a dealbreaker.

That blows my mind. It seems like backwards logic. If i was a realtor and i was working for my client and a home inspection is performed. Its a good negotiating tool for lowering my clients closing sale. Especially with the inflated housing market. Help me look at this another way. I cant figure that out.

Put yourself in the real estate agents shoes. He or she has a large commission hoping you don’t find anything.

If you find something you blow the deal. If the client moves in and discovers something you missed, the agent will point the finger at you.
