I understand that Marvin had some issues with some of their wood windows and frames built around 1985 to 1994 … particularly with the primer painting which resulted in many that prematurely deteriorated, particularly of the sills which take the most abuse. I also understand there was a class action settlement for windows built around 1985 to 1990, and some partial credit given for those between 1990 to 1994.
Marvin seems to have cleaned up thier act, and now offer a full 3 year warranty on parts/labor and 10 years on parts. It was previously only one year parts before 1995.
I ran across a situation where I suspect poorly painted sills on some older Marvin DH windows that I suspect may have had an issue with the original painting.
I know Marvin has a program where they will inspect older windows for the owner, but does anyone have some good info or links on this issue?

Dave … the link didn’t work …
In addition to the 1985 to 1989 windows subject to the settlements, I think there is something called "Organized Response" to address windows between 1990 and 1994.
Maybe some more info and/or links Dave ... thanks.
