You hurled your eggnog after looking at YOUR OWN PICTURE? That’s not a good sign!!
I call’em like I see’em… a face only a mother could love.:|.)
Haha. Don’t be so hard on yourself! You’re wife must love your face, unless it’s you keeping that office behind you so nicely aligned, the pictures and books all perfect.

She sees…dust:twisted: Oh well…
Happy New Year all! Time to watch the ball drop (or the Peach drop if you’re in Atlanta)
Thanks for all the input gize. I had Pay Pal on my list and I guess that would make the most cent$ for me too.
Hope y’all have a terrific New Year!
Google Checkout is absolutely FREE (at least for the next couple of months). When that promotion expires, it will be cheaper than PayPal.
So is… CASH, CHECK, or MONEY ORDER. No exceptions.
David,
Check might be good where you are, but not here in California. I talked to inspector a few days ago whose had SIX bounced checks in the last month. Of course people out here aren’t quite as honest as massachusetts.
In the last yr I have done 3 inspections for one lady on the same house. She decided not to pay me the last $230 she owed me. Her attorney called the other day wanting me to go to a deposition on her behalf against the contractor. I told him she still owes me $$$, and the only way I will show up is if I’m pd in full w/late payment fee & pre-paid for the depo. He said he’d let her know that. Lets seee what happens. And no I won’t accept credit card on this one.
I like that idea. Why not try it out twice? Here’s my link:
Well, We have our check bouncers here also. As a matter of fact, I had one client last month who told me she forgot her checkbook at home. I trusted her and gave her the report. BIG MISTAKE as I haven’t heard from her as of yet and she’s not returning my phone calls.
Not a problem though. I’ll get what’s owed to me, as my payment solution works 100% of the time. I file a small claims locally for $30.00, the courts send my client a court notice to appear in my municipal court and all of the sudden, I get a phone call from the client, acting stupid and stating,“I forgot all about your payment. I’ll send it first thing in the morning.” Ya bet your as$ they’ll send it off along with the court fees.
When I recieve payment, I call the courts to remove the complaint.
This 100% proven technique has not failed me yet.
When using paypal, how do you handle the amount of the payment/invoice? When I put the ‘Paypal button’ on my site, it wants me to enter a fixed amount. I assume the client will just have to ignore the default amount and enter the amount from the invoice.
That’s an awesome tip that guys here should definitely pay attention to. Unfortunately the inspector I was talking to said most of the buyers weren’t legal citizens so it might be harder to collect.
You can leave it blank, or you can send a payment request from within paypal (click request payment) where you type in the specific amount and it goes to their email inbox.
Now I failed to mention that part. I’m not prejudiced of any nationalities in any way whatsoever (my wife is Dominican), but when I inspect for particular clients in particular neighborhoods of Massachusetts, and at the end of the inspection the client gives me this bull-shi+ story that they forgot their checkbook at home, I ask them "if they would like me to follow them to the bank. If not I can hold onto your report until you send me a cashiers check by mail".
Oh no, they don’t want the report in the mail, they want it now. They’ll come up with payment in one way or another. I’ve actually had the Realtor pay me for the home inspection on a couple of occasions. Trust me, I will get paid.
