Accept Credit Card Payments On Your Website Or Thru A Touch Tone Phone

Here is the credit card deal for NACHI members I was telling
you guys about. Hope it helps someone. I use it.

http://www.nachi.org/payconcepts2007.htm

I’ve been providing that payment feature thru PayPal for over a year now. Check out paypal mobile features. You can pay and or receive funds from your cell or land line based communication devices.

PayPal Rocks!

This service is at a good price and is alternative to paypal (no slam
against paypal intended).

I’m actually glad to have an alternative to Paypal. They’re okay overall, but in a high cost transaction…500-600, I lose quite a bit to the transaction if the client pays with a credit card. So if there is a better way, then that is great. Also, the client might feel it’s too much trouble if they don’t have a Paypal acct. already and may not want to or be able to set up an account. It’s nice to have them just click a button or make a phone call.

Wendy,

What do you pay per year for your Paypal acct.?

and… What would be your normal fee for a $500.00
charge on a VISA card?

Please include any cost that would be included to
be able to take payments on your web site and
via cell phone… please.

Does Paypal appear on your Client’s statement
or your name? With Payconcepts, it is
your name that the Client sees on their statement.

and… Yes you are correct, your Client does not
have to join anything. Just click and pay.

$625.00 USD -$18.43 USD $606.57 USD
https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_merchant

there is the link to all the info, and above shows the $625 transaction, the amount taken out, and the net.

I wouldn’t use PayPal if it was the last resort for receiving a payment in this world.

I had PayPal for while a couple years ago, but after all the bizarre spam everybody gets from folks trying to bilk them, nobody wanted to use them to pay ME…which of course I don’t blame them, I wouldn’t either.

So I use the Bank HomeGauge has set up to force payment before a report can be viewed if the customer does not pay at the inspection.

This set-up through HomeGauge is the best thing next to playing golf I think.

This package and paypal are not much different in the
service fee per transaction they charge.

I need to know the yearly fee that paypal charges
to take credit cards, online payments, and cell phone payments?
Do you know that amount?

The link you provided requires a paypal password and
member ID. I do not have a paypal membership.

This deal cost $39.90 per year (Propay and Shopping Cart
combined)… that works out to about $3.32 per month to
to take cards at your web site or via your phone.

Is paypal that cheap? I don’t know.

Thanks for your help.

Sorry about that John. The info is available even without a membership. But I should have logged out first.

Just a sec.

And no. Paypal wouldn’t be that cheap. If I had five of those above transactions a week (God willing) I’d be paying 100 a week to use Paypal, minimum.

How much does Payconcepts charge per transaction?

I’d use the HomeGauge program above if I had it available. It’s only logical.

John,

Paypal does not charge a yearly fee for it’s ‘basic’ merchant accounts…just the ‘per transaction’ commission…DOWNSIDE is…on-line transactions only…no cell phone or land-line transactions. The only requirement is a e-mail address to join. UPSIDE…they (customers) can pay you with a credit card or from “their bank account” (once their account is “verified”).

Hope this helps…

Jeff

Payconcepts has teamed with Propay to give NACHI
the total package. This deal brings NACHI members
in at a level that you pay 2.99% per tansaction plus
a .30 cent fee.

The yearly cost is what makes the deal sweet for
the small business person to be able to take
payments on your web page and via phone.
It makes your web page look better too.

But there is a yearly or monthly fee if you want the mobile or landline accounts?

Paypal is based on the amount of the transaction. It’s a variable fee per transaction. Sometimes it’s quite a bit less than 2.99%.

Wendy…

To the best of my knowledge, they do not offer any other service than on-line.

I will check with them later tonight, and post what I find out.

Jeff

Below is a comparison someone from the company ran for me
between Paypal vs Proconcepts-Propay for NACHI members.
(when you compare apples with apples)… remember, this is not
intended as slam against Paypal, just passing on the info to
you guys.

This assumes the following “features” are purchased:

  • Telephone processing (charging a card by putting credit
card #'s in via a touchtone phone)
  • Online Processing (an automated form - this is what
    PayConcepts.net is)
  • “Virtual” terminal processing (an online form you use to
    process the card manually)

Per-Transaction Fees:

ProPay Premium: 3.25% + $0.35
PayPal: 2.9% + $0.30

** PayPal offers lower rates than that - 2.5% - 2.2%,
but according to their website - “Eligibility for
Merchant Rates is determined based on sales volume
from the previous calendar month”

Per-Month Fee:

ProPay + PayConcepts.net: $3.32/mo (you pay yearly)
PayPal: $20/mo

Misc. Features:

  • With us, your name appears on the credit card statement.
  • With us, we don’t bombard your customers with PayPal
ads - your customers feel more secure and not obligated
    to sign up with anything.

So, a typical scenario:

An inspector processing $36,000 in credit cards for
72 $500 transactions will receive these fees over the
course of one year.

PayPal:

$240 in monthly membership fee
$21.60 in $0.30 per-tran fee
$1,044 in 2.9% transaction fee
TOTAL: $1,305.60

ProPay + PayConcepts w/ Premium:

$39.90 in monthly membership fee
$25.20 in $0.35 per-tran fee
$1,260 in 3.25% transaction fee
TOTAL: $1,325.10

ProPay + PayConcepts w/ Premium Plus:

$69.90 in monthly membership fee
$21.60 in $0.30 per-tran fee
$1076.40 in 2.99% transaction fee
TOTAL: $1,167.90

ProPay + PayConcepts w/ Platinum:

$129.90 in monthly membership fee
$18 in $0.25 per-tran fee
$968.40 in 2.69% transaction fee
TOTAL: $1,116.30

SELLING POINTS:

  • Less chargebacks (or threat thereof) since your name
    appears on credit card charge.

  • Set yearly charge - no surprises

  • You get a Mastercard attached, which acts like a
prepaid Mastercard – which means faster access to funds.
It’s very convienent! (I use it constantly)

  • do the “real” math - we’re very likely cheaper for
your scenario as a small business.

My Response:

I did the numbers for a person only doing 4 charges
at $500 per month = $2000 p/mth or $24000 p/year of
total credit card charges. (someone who gets paid with
check, cash and sometimes credit cards for a modest
number of inspections might fit this example).

Paypal … = $950.40 p/year
Proconcept (NACHI deal)… = $836.70 p/year

This allows the process of the Clients credit card via:

Telephone (You take the card in the field)
Web Form (Client pays from your web page)
Manual Form (You enter it on the internet)

I hope this helps.

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-business-pricing-outside

You can eliminate that 20 dollar monthly charge by not having a virtual terminal. Once you do that the costs go way down.

If you accept cards out in the field, at the time of the
inspection, the option to process the card via phone
is very useful.

If you want to sell anything out in the field, this is useful.

No special equipment required for Payconcept.
