Mystery components on top of plumbing vent stacks

Does anybody know what these components are on top of these plumbing vent stacks? It smelled like sewage in the house.

Thank you, Scott. That looks very similar. They look like a possible breeding ground for nests that could obstruct the vent pipe.

One of those things that never should have been invented.

From the manufacturer on Amazon
Even though concentrations of sewer gas vary depending on whether a commercial building or a smaller home, we see customers buy their replacement charcoal at about the 3 year timeframe. Using a lot of bleach or having multiple bathrooms off one vent can also wear the unit prematurely.

I know, what’s the problem with sewage odors on the roof, anyways? Maybe they should’ve just installed some extensions without the fancy Odorhogs if they were too short to begin with.
