I?ve just confirmed that findaninspector.us and belonging to NACHI works forwards and backwards.
Earlier this week, I inspected a home for a couple buying a home on Smith Mountain Lake in VA. (http://www.visitsmithmountainlake.com ) They are moving here from Hurley, NY.
While explaining my findings in my report, the gentleman remarked ?You know, I?ve had several home inspections done in the past, and none were as thorough as this. You found things I never would have even looked for.?
Well that led me to ask if he was selling his current home, and if he was, if he had had a listing inspection performed on his house. He replied ?no, I haven?t.?
Well, I went through all the reasons for a listing inspection listed in http://www.nachi.org/prelisting.htm and offered to e-mail him a list of NACHI certified inspectors in his area, which I did. My client called back to say that his listing realtor had asked him ?what in the world would you do THAT for? It?s like opening Pandora?s Box!? My reply was ?You?ve read my report on your new home, that you fell so in love with, how would you like to be blindsided with issues like your seller was?? To which he replied,? Good point.?
Well this afternoon, my client called to say he had hired fellow NACHI member Douglas Constant of Constant Home Inspections to inspect his home to help him get it ready to sell.
I know that I?ll get all sorts of referrals from this client. And maybe from Douglas too!
Thanks NACHI
