We just released a new NACHI version of the ReportHost report writing service. See:

http://nachi.reporthost.com

This version has a similar look and feel as the NACHI website. For those who are interested in joining NACHI, or who are already NACHI members, our service allows you to do the following:

  • Easily write reports compliant with the NACHI Standards of Practice
  • Include the NACHI logo in your reports, and in the free home page you receive when signing up with ReportHost
  • Enjoy 30 free reports vs. the standard 25 if you're a NACHI member

If you're comparing software solutions for report writing, please check us out. And if you have suggestions for new features in our service or changes in features, please let us know. We revise our service every week or so based mainly on feedback from inspectors.

Jim,

I concur with Igor. I have been looking into an alternative report system for use with on line home buyers. I will give yours the first opportunity as you have chosen to affiliate with NACHI.

My first suggestion would be that you provide a printable check list that coincides directly with the report format. This way, those of us who don't use notepad or notebook computers can have some type of field guide.

Dear Jeff,

What you describe is exactly our model. You print out field notes that correspond to web forms that you fill out. Generating a narrative report (with predefined narratives that you change or create) is done by simply checking checkboxes on the web forms. Each checkbox corresponds to an item on your field notes. It's a one-to-one relationship. You can change the default values of these items for all future use, or change them just for the report you're working on. Every item is customizable, and of course you can create your own items.

We hope you'll join us!

Robert,

I just updated your account. You now have 30 free reports rather than 25.

We started offering this after you signed up, but I'm happy to make this retroactive upon request.

Jim … thanks. It looks like a good reporting system, particularly with the recent upgrades.
