Natural gas grey pipe

A grey pipe was installed for a natural gas fireplace. Is this an acceptable installation?

That is not “grey pipe”. It is CSST with a grey coating. Was there a sleeve where it went through that masonry wall? Also, was it bonded at the meter attachment? Got a pic of where it enters the NG fireplace?

Jeff’s right. You actually learn something new every day. Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing (CSST), is used to replace Black Iron Pipe, to eliminate the dangers of rigid gas piping.

Not sure what dangers you are talking about, unless it leaks at the connections. CSST is installed to save time as it is easier to install. CSST has it’s own dangers as well.
