Unfortuantly I am having a problem down loading a picture but, when I was in the basement of a house today I noticed a 1/8 clear plastic line running into the concrete floor beside the sewer pipe, when I traced it back it was connected to a tee on the fill valve in the toilet tank? any ideas on what this is for?

Thanks.

It may be a way to keep a trap filled.

I thought of that, or maybe to let air escape the system?

It sounds like backsiphonage potential to me. Was there an air gap?

No gap, the tube entered the concrete floor beside the waste pipe…

I have also seen a similar setup where there has been a tube connected to the laundry taps, runs of the back of them and then into a drain?
