The panel may have looked like any other we typically see.

It’s not uncommon for receptacles to be run in parallel (or series), just not such a short distance apart from each other.

I just bought a 4 foot power strip with 12 outlets for the work bench.

Receptacles are never in series. Nothing would work properly unless there was only one thing plugged into the circuit if they were.

The one thing would still not work because all of the other outlets in series present an open in the circuit.

True. I guess they’d have to go to every other outlet and plug in jumpers. :grin:

They need to keep a supply of these rings on hand.

Never understood why these rings are polarized. Was the NEC involved?
