Just waiting for the libtards to chime in and say “it’s Fox News that hailstorm never happened”.
LOL While they’re watching CNN
Never woulda guessed this could happen either.
Weather happens, everywhere, and solar panels don’t have star trek style force fields around them to protect them from hail or tornadoes.
Damn, I wonder what the environmental hazard of cars and homes is compared to solar panels full of cancer causing chemicals? Probably far less, and cheaper to fix as well.
Head Libtard took 36 minutes to get triggered.
My electricity bill was down to $102 this month from $120 last month. I want to complain that it’s the current administrations’ fault. Where do i sign up?
Wow! You managed to get a racial slur into a political debate. That must be a new low, even for you. (by the way, races and religions are capitalized: “Jewish”)
Um, you mean the exact same chemicals in flat screen TVs, laptops, cell phones, drones, car electronics, non-stick pans, fancy shine coatings for cars, leather conditioners, and clothing items like rain jackets? Those chemicals? My god there must be a conspiracy to keep all that silent.
And weather conditions affecting energy production like say, a Gulf Hurricane or ice storm? Yawn.
Just repeating what others have said here Bob. You apparently have never followed all my post, which I understand, because i don’t follow or care about all your post…
Is that why you’re on my shit list by any chance?
Don’t care and don’t read your post. One sentence and it’s LOL!! Outta here…
.
Pretty amazing pictures. But my question is, do solar panels “leak” chemicals when they are broken? Almost as importantly, I wonder if these damaged panels can be recycled to reclaim any of the compounds and minerals or whatever in them? I don’t have the answer, yet.
It has been unusually cold here in SWFL, so I would think that has been the trend there in GA too.
They absolutely can be recycled.
The energy cost and effort to reclaim some residual metals will exceed any energy the panel ever produced. Even it if were “in the green” so to speak as far as energy budget(and they never are, nor will be with this tech) the recycling part of it would dump them straight back into the red. I.e. you’re better off just burning nat gas or nuclear. It’s cheaper and uses less energy.
Bury them near a subduction fault and let mother Earth chew on them for a couple million years.
So a quick search tells me that modern panels are produced with very little or zero toxins. So maybe some of the older panels are an issue. But also, recycling efforts have been ramping up. Good to hear!
“all residential and commercial solar installations happening today are done with silicon cells, which contain no toxins.”
According to the OP’s article., the panels in question are the silicone panels, so that’s good!
