New water heater install

I am going to be installing a new water heater tomorrow and have a question about which water lines to use. Are the copper lines that are sweated together going to last longer than the steel braided lines that attach to unthreaded copper lines with compression fittings? The steel braided flexible lines will be easier to install, but easy is not always better.

If your experience level is average I’d go with the flex line.

What Jack said. The steel braided lines have copper lining.

I went ahead and installed it with the flex lines with the compression fittings. I was wondering how reliable they are compared to the copper pipe.

The flex lines will probably last as long as your water heater.
