Good read and thank you for fighting for all the members of InterNACHI
Awesome news! Congrats.
Congrats, it took a wheil, things can sometimes be tougher than expected.
First off, congratulations Nick. Well done & well deserved. I remember you posting this back in 2022.
This has been an ongoing saga. Help me and the other members please. The saga revolves around a six utility patents. Could you name the patents? More specifically, patents that affected home inspectors. I seem to remember termite identification and WDO.
Here is what I gleaned from Homesafe patents.
Thanks in Advance.
PS: Welcome to the forum, Albert.
They had patents that they claimed gave them exclusive right to use an infrared camera on both home inspections and termite inspections and so began suing inspectors who were using infrared cameras.
Appears Home Safe has spent many hours and much money. The way I read it, HOMESAFE INSPECTION, INC was dissolved in 2013.
CIVIL ACTION NO. 3:14-CV-209-SAA
01-28-2016
HOMESAFE INSPECTION, INC. PLAINTIFF v. JOHN HAYES, Individually, and d/b/a HAYES HOME INSPECTIONS, and PILLAR TO POST INC., a Delaware Corporation, DEFENDANTS
Nick, your perseverance is impressive. 7 years, my hats off to you.
Well, perseverance wouldn’t have helped without the money to appeal. In Mississippi if you lose, as I did, you have to put up 125% of the judgment to even file an appeal. I was able to put the money together to afford the appeal. That was the truly hard part on me. But I won on appeal in an unanimous decision. And then I went after the state for the interest on my money that they escrowed and won that back too. It was a good month. I won the appeal, got my money back, then got the interest on my money back. Food tasted better that week. LOL
