Yes, of course. And, there should be unambiguous exceptions for crass politically-motivated, bogus, third-world type lawfare (which, of course, is the real problem).

It would depend on the type of conviction. I am not a big fan of sweeping policies that do not allow for context review.

Our President Elect adds a whole new prospective to the issue of felony background checks.
Personally, I’m all for background checks, because as already mentioned, who in their right mind would want a convicted felon going through every nook and cranny of their home for 3 or 4 hours, many times alone, I know I wouldn’t.

There are all different kinds of felonies. There are traffic felonies, physical battery can be a felony as can assault. As Brian said there is no context to the word alone. Most states review your information, as they did mine, and allow or deny licensing individually.
For those that want to know I broke a family members nose in PA. It was easier to simply roll with the whole thing than fight it. Contrary to popular belief, “your day in court.” doesn’t guarantee justice will be served.
