He never saw the property in person. Unfortunately the inspector was licensed as an HI. He has no member affiliation with any organization. He grandfathered in as a GC who was performing inspections. I can only assume no training or qualifying courses. But i do not know for sure. I just thought this thread would support the need for organizations like InterNACHI.
Yes they were recommended by the agent. I do not know if there are any cases of direct correlation between mold and death but there are many potential hazards for fungal infections due to mold exposure. These infections can be fatal if not addressed. I specialized in Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical warfare and defense in the Army. I know of several biological agents that use fungal spores for WMD’s. I agree with the license requirements being the bare minimum. I feel we should all strive to exceed the minimum standards. I have never heard of anyone succeeding by just getting by.
Hey Dom, I should have titled it “Non-Certified Inspector”. I meant to point out that he belongs to no organization nor ever had to partake in any formal training other than C.E. courses. Sorry for the confusion. Hindsight is always 20/20. LOL
