If you gentleman are going to continually mock and insinuate that my association is at fault here in any way, please at least get the acronym correct. It is CAHPI not CAPHI. Vern once again can’t get things right either. The Realtor had the correct acronym, but Vern as usual did not. As far as the web address, I think it’s best for all that the realtor got it wrong.

This realtor has said some very wrong things, but rather than trying to correct that, you have all chosen to try to somehow connect CAHPI to it. My goodness, just how desparate are you people?

I think Bill should invite Nick Gromicko onto the CANUCK List. After all Bill had had time here to sell the National. I think Nick Gromicko should be given access to the CANUCK List to sell CMI and to exchange ideas.

I think the realtor is stating that people should “self diagnose” homes because then he can slide any old piece of crap in there and sell it to them without a “pesky” inspector pulling the plug on his shady little deal.:roll:

I think it is time to take a page from Nick’s book and try to cool things down a bit. If Nick thinks Bill has something to offer the Nachi conference I think it would be safe to say he does. Lets all try to let the past go by and try to pick up the pieces and go forward. Both organizations have a lot to offer, if we could work together on this (I believe we all want similar things) we would be far better off.

I agree it would be great ( if we could work together on this ) . Unfortunately this does not seem to be happening .
Here are some examples.
1 WE offered CAHPI a free both at the May NACHI Conference .
2 We offered CAHPI members to attend the NACHI may conference at NACHO members prices .
( I personally called the Pres of CAHPI Michael Guiana and sent him email as well ) Not the courtesy of a reply.
3 We have asked for information re the National certification ( like a break down of the certification ? how many took the course , how many passed a break down of CAHPI, NACHI and non members .
None of this has been received .
When a NACHI member used the #99 he was called a liar by Bill ( how would we know if that is right or wrong.
I have been accused of Bill with be an abuser from what I said on our BB to one person who was Harrising me.
Bill is Far from perfect He has his own BB and I saw Pornographic material being posted there .
He belittled those who complained about it and it still goes on.
Publishing pornographic is a lot different then telling some one off.
If it was not for many NACHI members digging non CAHPI Home Inspectors Might know nothing about the NATIONAL certification.
NACHI members have asked for info and we get the complete run around.
I do hope we can start communicating fully but it is a two way street and fair play is the only way to go.

Thanks Wendy I have not seen this, but on the Canuk it is some members who do it and the more Senior members chastise those who complain.
It is a private group and spam does not get there.

Sorry you did come in late .
Bill was the one who called a NACHI member a liar in 2004 .
I tried a very soft approach and said how Just maybe Bill is Tired and that was not the best way to talk to a member .
Well I could not have got a more abrupt reply if I Had thrown a gallon of paint of Bill he .
He lost his cool completely and removed some from his BB with many not nice things said .
This has gone on many times and still does on His BB.
Sorry you do not have the full Information .
I would love to see this end But will stand up to Protect my self and the NACHI members .
Why not send Bill email asking to join his BB and see for your self . ( bmullen@ebtech.net) ask him how you go about getting on He just might like to have your thoughts .
It was I who posted for Bill every time he needed info get to the NACHI members .

One simply cannot deny that Bill Mullen and his group have survived for years, not by providing his members with tangible membership benefits, but through fear. His “Any day now the Canadian government is going to officially announce that every inspector in Canada has to join Bill Mullen’s do-nothing association, so you better keep sending in your money” has worked for years. It is based in fear. If you were suckered, don’t feel bad. I got suckered too a while back and took many steps (including a couple secret trips to Canada) until I convinced myself that it was all nonsense. Every single avenue we went down lead us to the same story… if anything ever happens it will be based on education, not membership in private association. Does there exist some Canadian government agency that mentions his association somewhere… of course. Whipty do. I’d even be happy if the Canadian government required inspectors to meet or exceed any association’s standards. NACHI exceeds them all so it would be fine with us. I’d even be happy if they charged his association with administrative duties in assuring minimum standards are adopted, NACHI isn’t about minimum anything so let him do it. But will Bill Mullen be standing on stage, pulling the cloth off a 3’ X 5’ document mounted on stand that says “OFFICIAL NOTICE: You must join Bill Mullen’s association or go out of business now - Signed, the Canadian Government.” ??? Don’t make me laugh.

The trouble with building up an announcement by saying “the news is so big that we are sworn to secrecy” (oh brother ) is that when you finally do pull the cloth off… you’d better run out the back stage door quick before the disappointed crowd lynches you.

Hey Dave to bad you are no longer a member.

But I have been informed there are several disgruntled members posting on the OAHI CAFE, that they have not been informed of the AGM!

I am not surprised considering what is on the agenda. I think all OAHI members should be sure to ask were the Minutes of the BOD meetings are and why the Financial records as required under the Corporations Act and the by-laws are not anywhere to be found!

Or why Mr. Aubrey LeBlanc was hired by OAHI to the tune of six figures without any input from the membership or any vote on the matter!

Yes OAHI needs an audit and I understand the South West Meeting Group is planning on running/nominating a few members to ensure an over throw of the current regime because they to are fed up with the inaccuracies and lack of minutes or financial documents!

SELF-NOMINATION FOR OAHI ELECTIONS

OAHI elections will take place at the 2007 Annual General Meeting scheduled for Saturday March 3, 2007 at the Fern Resort in Orillia Ontario. Any Registered Home Inspector (RHI) member seeking election to the board by way of self-nomination must submit a written notice including a brief statement of experience and description of platform, on or before January 17, 2007 (45 days prior to the annual meeting, as per By-law 6 (a), addressed to the Secretary of the OAHI.

The CAHPI-National website is under construction and for those members who view the Canadian Home Inspector magazine on line the fall 2006 issue and the winter 2007 issue will be available in March 2007.
