Poly-b plumbing? Approx. 39 year old manufactured home. There is no indication printed on pipe.
Thanks in advance

If that is fixture supply lines it is OK!

Yes it is polybutylene, so?

The red and blue are PEX.

Tom, many, if not most mobiles were plumbed with PB during that time. I would just note it as “potential” and refer it to further evaluation to a plumber. I’ve seen 30-40 year PB working and good condition, but I let my clients know that there are issues which could arise at anytime.

What was at the water heater? I see pex on the bottom left.

Thank you guys. I will be letting the client know about it and refer a plumber prior to closing.

Please elaborate on what “you are letting the client know”.

That poly-b may be present and they can decide wether or not to replace it.
They may may incur higher insurance premiums or not be insured at all.
It’s in the article.

I would never, EVER, make a statement like that, (unless you are also a licensed insurance agent)!!

Im not mentioning insurance in report. Just want them to be aware they have poly-B and that may have a negative impact on the home.
What would be in your report if found?

What I stated above Tom.

I’d bet that is nothing more than fixture supply lines.
The rest of the home appears to have been repipe with PEX.
And I would not call out the fixture supply lines.

The pex you see are small repairs and also seen where newer water heater was installed. The rest of the home is plumbed with potential poly-b.

Thank you … Somewhere on the piping it should be stamped with PB2110.
Here you go.

"The presence of polybutylene plumbing was observed. This type of piping has a known history of problems with defective connections and the pipe splitting. During inspection I did not see any problems with the polybutylene plumbing that was visible, but was unable to view all piping. Recommend that you consult with a qualified licensed plumber if you have any concerns and/or for additional information. "

Thank you for sharing. This is more or less what the client will read.
