If that is what I think it is…plastic, then it is ABS. At first glance I thought it was black iron pipe. The whole affair looks to be jerry rigged.

I have never seen threaded PB pipe.


How old is the house? Where does the mystery pipe go? Irrigation or is that the main?

Locks to me like it could be steel pipe with a plastic covering.


Did you try and see if the pipe would move at all.


Plastic would have a bit of movement where steel would be solid .
