Hi, Michael. This is Ashley from Porch. You have the ability to opt clients in/out on a case by case basis. For the homebuyers you work with that are opted in, they will receive an email following the inspection from the Home Assistant. In the email, the Home Assistant shares that they will be contacted w/in the next 24 hours. If the homebuyer replies to the email and says they do not want to be contacted, the Home Assistant will not contact them. After the email, if the client does not reply, the Home Assistant will call the homebuyer and begin the process of making their move as easy and hassle-free as possible.
Within the ISN settings when you turn Porch on, you have the ability to check what types of inspections the program will apply to.
Hi, John! Good question. The handyman services that Porch provides are local handymen that are background checked and vetted. When the homeowner indicates that they would like to redeem a coupon and get a job done, the Home Assistant will contact the top handyman in the area to book an appointment. The great part about this for the homeowner is that we are able to work directly with the handyman to book an appointment time, confirm it with the customer, and manage the entire job end-to-end from booking to payment. This ensures a really great customer experience for the homeowner because we coordinate all the communication and ensure that the job is done to their satisfaction.
Hi, Ashley.
What happens to the personal information about his clients that you harvest from home inspectors after you send an email to the clients and they do not respond? Is it immediately destroyed?
When a home inspector provides you with personal information about the homebuyer that hired him, you send an email, you get a response, and make your money … and then what happens to the private data about the homebuyer? Do you destroy it, immediately?
Some suspect that the private information about the homebuyers that you harvest becomes your property and is retained. Is this true?
Thanks.
So, how **exactly **are these “Top Handymen/Handywomen” vetted?
I suppose it is like all others… “Yup, found you on Google (so you’re a business) and Yep, willing to pay for referrals ($$$$)”!
Sign yourself up. Wait to see how long it takes to get screened. LOL

BTW, it looks as if the relationship between Porch.com and Realtor.Com results in a permanent database attached to the home. I would suspect that future buyers of the same property will be getting a call from the contractor that installed (insert name of household appliance, here) when the warranty is getting ready to expire.
"Realtor.com will be using the jobs tracked on porch to create a history of each property. This history will include maintenance, upgrades, and other information.
"For example, if a homeowner used porch to find a contractor to do a kitchen remodel and then tracked the job on Porch.com, that history would be attached to the home profile on Realtor.com. When a somebody else purchases that home in the future, they can see a complete list of maintenance and home improvements, including what contractor or handyman did the work.
“So, even if your customer moves, you still have the opportunity to retain the business for that specific house.” Porch.com Review: The Best Online Directory Yet?
I have to say this … any home inspector that is shady enough to betray the privacy of the homebuyers that hire him should, at least, be getting something more in return. These leads are making lead brokers (and their affiliates) lots of money.
Sad to see NACHI being a part of this, but not surprising or inconsistent.
Thank you. I think this is an important reply for all to note how this process is intended to operate.
We use a company called Endera. They check for-
• Criminal records
o Wants and warrants
o Booking and arrests
o Criminal history
o Sex offender registrants
• Financial activity
o Bankruptcy and foreclosures
o Liens and judgements
o Lawsuits
o Large purchases
• Vehicle and Traffic records
o Moving traffic violations
o Car registration expiration
The handymen don’t pay us for leads. They are booked jobs so they get paid a portion of the job once completed.
True that.
We see the world from our own perspective not as it is. I feel bad for Ashley I’m sure she doesn’t really ‘grok’ your message. To her everyone involved with the Porch thingy is a winner, sure you have to give up some stuff but what you get back is more-better.
Our generation respected privacy, in today’s world privacy is just another commodity market to be serviced by bright young enterprising people. Believe me, once the proper metrics are codified all you need to do is simply play your part. Now… Press “1” for English, or wait for the next available operator.
I do not disagree, Joe, that greed has certainly replaced honor and respect when it comes to the interaction between certain businessmen and their customers. It is obviously so prevalent that home inspectors and their associations are able to freely promote the exploitation of the privacy of homebuyers on publicly accessible message boards.
But while, as you say, our world views might vary from person to person, truth remains constant and requires no majority. As one moves closer to what is true he moves farther from gimmicks such as these.
Prudent homebuyers will seek home inspectors who respect their privacy and … when they find one … they will not find lead harvesting gimmicks such as these a part of their package. Caveat emptor.
Ashley- Will Porch be providing my clients repair work performed through Porch to Realtor.com?
So I looked on the porch website for my area all the services shown start at $129
Also, is the 90 guarantee available with the InterNachi package?
Well, it was nie that Nick bought an interest in Porch to protect ISN users from Porch.
But who’s going to protect InterNACHI members from Porch?
Seems InterNACHI has really jumped the shark and gotten into Nathan/ISG territory now.
Nick, you’ve just been proven wrong:
How does Porch obtain the clients email address if NACHI isn’t giving it to them?
And why the bleep would I want these people to ever contact my clients?
Agreed.
If I want to sell out my clients email addresses, I think I’d be better off going with the 101 ISG products rather than saving a mere $5 per inspection.
Ian is wrong. So I’ll repeat it again: InterNACHI doesn’t release any data to anyone.
How?
Oh, so if you can’t figure out how someone got YOUR client’s data you assume InterNACHI gave it to them? InterNACHI doesn’t give any data to anyone. How many times do I have to repeat it?
Just seems like some bad negotiating to me. Each Internachi member deserves way more than 5 dollars for providing that information. To me, that’s falling into the “Fill the schedule to make more money” trap.
Does nothing to raise our prices. Even alarm companies will give us $200 per lead. I still haven’t heard if Porch also gives/sells all that info. to Realtor.com?
We need to consolidate all these Porch threads. It’s getting old trying to chase information down on this.
PORCH…PORCH…PORCH…whats going on here ?
Why is NACHI becoming an official spokesperson for a slim ball outfit ?
Exciting News!!!..Really ?
Under the terms of the program, InterNACHI gives the clients data to Porch assuming an inspector opts in.
InterNACHI has agreed to allow Porch to create an incentive for inspectors to allow InterNACHI to turn over client data.
InterNACHI is promoting via this thread the concept of inspectors to opt in to this program.
Anyway you slice it, InterNACHI is involved in turn over client data.
