Sluggish drains in the home
Plumbing backups
Gurgling sound in pipes or drains
Outdoor odors
Mushy ground or greener grass around septic system

Stoppages in general, If we are talking about "What "MIGHT"
cause a gurgling sound when draining water out of drain

A & E are the best answers.

Show me where 78% of the homes have no vent. Unless this is an out-house.

In many cases (believe it or not icon_wink.gif ) homeowners add on rooms and/or bathrooms without permits.

Many people don't understand the reason behind drain vents and therefore simply tap into a waste line.

I've run across this on two separate occasions.

The house I inspected this morning had no vent for the bathroom sink, and it gurgled. The kitchen sink was vented in the most interesting way. The vent pipe ended under the sink with a 90 degree elbow and a 1?" to 1" reducer, with the 1" pipe cut off. Funny, didn’t smell real good under the sink either icon_eek.gif

I have put the past behind me,

Don’t forget about vacuum breakers (air admittance devices) installed in whirlpool tub enclosures and island sinks. I have found two that were stuck closed.
