Little background. Only piece of roof framing that was cracked. All other pieces were fine, roof had no waviness above this piece.

Jeff, if this was indeed signed off by an engineer I would have no problem with this, but I would still request to see documentation as proof.


For all I know Harry Homeowner scribbled those initials there, initials means nothing by themself.

Actually, I've seen situations such as this. It's usually in a case when the contractor is called out to evaluate the condition before work continues (not an engineer).

I'll save the balance of my comments regarding possible recommendations until after the poll has ended (tomorrow).
