**Welcome to another round of Questions of The Week!
**
Questions of the week:
Introduction and requirements:
A member of the Award Committee will post a question, at a random day/time.
A competing member may make one post per question thread to answer the question and the member’s winning entry must have all parts of the question answered completely in that one post. Editing your one answer post allowed will result in disqualification.
Winnings will be limited to no more than 3 times in a given year, the objective is to allow as many Members a chance to win as possible. Any disregard to the above and divulging the correct answers or giving hints/references will cause a disqualification.
So please refrain from participating if you have already won in the maximum for the Year.
First correct answer (as judged by the Awards Committee or Poster of the Question) wins.
The lucky winner will get a case of “Now that you’ve had a Home Inspection Books” shipped to them at their address on file. Make sure your Address on File with Inachi is correct.
Winners of the Question of The Week shall request their prize by emailing fastreply@nachi.org and submitting their Mailing address for shipping.
Allow 2 weeks for delivery.
THANKS for being here and good luck!
***At this time, responses are open to all inspectors who have not won during this calendar year.
If no correct answers, the responses will be open to all inspectors at a time determined by the committee.

NOBODY who has been participating in these “contests” even bothers to read the opening narrative. If you’re gonna make changes, you’re gonna need to change the entire header to get their attention!
BUT… if you don’t post the winners in a timely manner, who’s to know if they are eligible or not? Last weeks winner was not announced, so who is ineligible from last week?
And… if you’re going to change the rules mid-game, you need to make an official announcement, not simple throw a sentance inside the original rules with some color!!
When you get in your car and drive, do you first whip out the manual to see how to start it?
Of course not. You drive because there’s no sane reason that reading the instructions again would change how you start the car.
Honestly, who among you first read the little blue arbitrary and exclusionary note before jumping to the clever meat of the quiz? Anyone?
There has been a rule in place (since I’ve been a member) that stops at six wins per member per year. Technically it’s my fault for assuming that would be the case - silly me not stopping to read the instructions on how to start my car…
I also get that the final arbiter is Marc - he took the time to create the quiz, the rules are whatever he wants them to be because - well because those are the rules. And we can form whatever damn opinion that we want on the arbitrariness of the rules based on how we’ve seen these quizzes evolve in the past, which, come to think of it, is sometimes pretty arbitrary.
I mean, an inspector wouldn’t open a service panel and assume that it is the same as the past ones, would they?
We are trying to do something good for the general membership. It is not easy to keep EVERYONE happy. Please consider that before you comment.
We are happy to consider constructive comments, via email, that can help us move forward but what we decide to do is what we decide to do…and sometime things slip through the cracks…sorry…for volunteering.
This committee puts in more time & thought than you could ever imagine. We really care.
Perhaps if you would learn to read & comprehend you won’t disappear
for three weeks and drive a cab like last time.
