**** Welcome to another round of Questions of The Week!

Please read the Introduction and requirements, changes may have been made.

A member of the Awards Committee will post questions, at a random day/time.

Eligible members may make one post per question thread to answer the questions, and the eligible member’s winning entry must have all parts of the questions answered completely in that one post. Editing your one answer post allowed will result in disqualification.

Any disregard to the above and divulging the correct answers or giving hints/references will cause a disqualification.

First correct answers (as judged by the Awards Committee or Poster of the Questions) wins.
The WINNER can now choose from any of the prizes listed above!
Request your choice by emailing fastreply@nachi.org and submit your Mailing address for shipping.

Good luck! :cowboy_hat_face:

Sounds to me that it comes form a past era, no offense. (Before I was born)

Good questions Marc, thanks for your time!

No one got all 5 correct, BUT Nathan Clapper & Jacob Kaufman got 4 of 5.
Looks like everyone had trouble with question #1.
Yeah, you could figure EMP is a response, but it is a product of the answer I was looking for, lightning strikes.

So… … … Congrats to
Nathan & Jacob the winners!
Thanks everyone for being here! :cowboy_hat_face:

  1. Name the two most common types of potentially damaging electrical charges
    Lightning strikes and static electricity
    https://homeguides.sfgate.com/plumbing-system-electrical-grounding-94939.html
A lightning strike produces a localized EMP
Lightning is a very high voltage discharge with an extremely high current. This high current in turn produces a corresponding magnetic field. This is very broad spectrum , from very-low-frequency ( VLF ) radio to ultraviolet ( UV ) wavelengths.

3) How many components does a simple circuit contain?
And what are they?
Three components are necessary to have a functioning electric circuit, namely, a source of voltage, a conductive path, and a resistor

~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~
4) Kinetic energy in an inductor is stored in the form of _______ field
Potential energy in a capacitor is stored in the form of _______ field
magnetic electric
The potential energy in a capacitor is stored in the form of electric field, and the kinetic energy in an inductor is stored in the form of magnetic field

5) The average resistance of the human body, once electricity starts to flow through it and the blood stream ionizes, is about _______ from hand to hand
500 ohms

As for question #1 I was going to put lighnitng strikes but it seemed like such a simple answer and I panicked and went back to my answer I put haha. Should have follow my instinct!
Thanks again guys! 2020 here we come!
