These are easy and basic questions.

  1. What do these numbers and letters mean? (Start upper left & go down, then upper right and go down. There are 5 items.)

  2. Assume all need safety glass. When is glass in door exempt from being safety glass?

  3. Where at bottom of stairs should handrail return to wall?

  4. What is the minimum area of a habitable room?

  5. What is the minimum wood shake keyway?

    32/16 is the span rating Exposure 1 is the durability classification
    C-D is the grade of the face and core veneers

  2. Openings in a door through which a 3-inch sphere is able to pass.

  1. APA stands for American Plywood Association. Rated Sheathing Structural l is the panel grade. 32/16 is the span rating. 15/32 is the sheathing thickness. Exposure 1 is the exposure durability classification. 000 is the mill number. PS 1-83 is the product standard. C-D is the grade of the face and core veneers. NER-QA397 is the code recognition of the APA as a quality assurance agency. PRP-108 is the APA’s performance rated panel standard.

  2. Decorative glass and any glass opening too small for a 3-inch ball to pass through are exempt.

  3. 1 tread width past the bottom step.

  4. 70 sf

  5. 3/8" to 5/8"

  6. Cambered Truss, Studio Truss, Double Howe Truss, Flat Truss, Jack Truss, Scissor Truss.

120 sf for at least one habitable room and other habitable rooms could be 70 sf minimum. Question asked for minimum area of habitable room, so I went with the lesser number. :smile:
