  1. D, at least based on recent forum discussion …
  2. D, plaster is heavy when it falls.
  3. C, this depends on the flooring and what is meant by nails/screws on the floor. Obviously sub flooring attachment is rarely visible, finished flooring hides it.
  4. B
  5. A, total guess I started looking and couldn’t find anything really conclusive.

Bonus question- New Jersey

  1. All of them. All of them are “at least Critical”

  2. D. It’s a safety concern until a more benign explanation can be found (e.g. past leak of air handler now resolved).

  3. D. None of the above. Subfloor nails of course are inaccessible.

  4. B. Air sealing is also required so the conditioned air is not lost, not just insulation.

  5. No answer. Not sure there is a standard, other than enough to prevent splash damage. As most showerheads curve down this does not seem like a big deal either way.

1) Which of the following conditions would be at LEAST critical to your client’s safety?
a) A pin hole in the heat exchanger: Die in your sleep from carbon monoxide
b) No handrails on an interior stairway: Die when awake by falling down the stairs
c) Lack of pressure and temperature relief valve on the water heater: Send you to the moon
d) A non-reversing garage door opener: Grind you into the ground
ALL of them are critical and must be noted.
2.) D
3.) D
4.) B - but really conditioned attics should pretty much always get hot/cold air from a duct.
5.) B
