Chinese drywall was used during the construction boom between 2004 to 2007. It is made with unrefined coal ash from smokestacks out of power plants. Fly ash contains a toxic substance that in hot and humid climates can off gases into hydrogen sulfide, carbon disulfide, and carbonyl sulfide and contaminate a homes air supply.
The photo shows a master bathroom water closet.
Findings: The WC does not operate efficiently. There seems to be a leak in the tanks components. As water seeps out and into the bowl; it causes the water inlet valve to open intermittently to maintain the proper water level in the tank. This occurs approximately every ten minutes.
Response: The WC tank is in need of a simple adjustment, or a repair by a qualified service repairman.

There was significant corrosion or sediments noted at the lavatory sink drain near the p-trap. This was an indication of a possible leak or a failure in the drain assembly. Further evaluation by a licensed plumber is recommended for repair or replacement.
I chose “Water Heater Inspection” from the image gallery. The water heater that was shown appeared to be compliant. It was a gas water heater located in a garage. It was elevated approximately 18 inches on a stand to prevent ignition of flammable vapors. There was a TPR valve extension that appeared to be the same size as the valve. There was a drip leg on the gas line as required. What was visible of the exhaust flue appeared to be correct. There was a cold water shut-off as required.
This is a picture of some outside water heaters. They are built on a make shift structure that is in desperate need of repair. Both units are well past there use full life expectancy and you can clearly see that they are rusted out and leaking at the bottom of the units.
I read the article Sewer Gases in the Home. It is amazing just how deadly the gasses can be. I have a new respect for the way that the plumbing in the house should be. Without the proper drainage and venting systems in a house it is a death trap.
Gas line to spa heater was properly equipped with shut off valve above sediment trap. This allowing homeowner the ability to clean out sediment trap if needed turning off the gas at the shut off valve prevents gas from flowing as you clean sediment trap.
Propane grills are known to more than 500 fires annually. No more than two 20 pound propane tanks are allowed on the property of a one or two family home. inspect for a leak, spray a soapy solution over the connections and watch for bubbles.
The water heater is an electrical unit and it’s installation and condition are as follows: in need of a temperature-pressure relief valve drain line properly fitted, a drain pan and an expansion tank and seismic straps installed. This water heater in it’s current condition is a defect and should be repaired by a licensed plumbing contractor.
I learned a lot about roof framing from the gallery Framing. Non treated girders an joists have to me elevated by masonry concrete or treated wood of 12 for a girder and 18 for joists. Rafter ties are also refereed to ceiling joists. The tops of walls have double top plates.
I read PVC health hazards. I didnt realize the variety of products that pvc is actually used in. And it is interesting that we use this so often for our drinking water considering the health effects and chemicals that are present in it. It seems like there would be an alternative for at least the supply water lines we use.
I have read about water wells from InterNachi Gallery Images, in present time most of the water wells are drilled or sandPoint(driven). In olden times wells are holes in the ground dug by shovel below the groundwater table. The well was then lined (cased) with stones, brick material to prevent collapse. It was covered with a cap of wood, stone, or concrete. Today.
It was back in early eighties when I was in School, three people died near to our school in an olden style dug water well, when one person went into well to take water pump had not come back, then two more persons went into the well to help him, when no one had come back then city fire brigade had been called and they found toxic gases(H2S) accumulated in the bottom of water well, this is just a personal experience shared here but latest water wells are sophisticated and there are specific requirements for casing materials.
This is the picture of sink faucet taken from the kitchen in my house, it is pull out type faucet.I can note water dripping from the faucet head, the leak rate is still very less but it is noticeable, sometimes if I push down faucet head it will stop. I expect it is a washer problem.
Natural gas fired water heater manufactured in 2015 installed in a utility closet off the main bath adjacent to the two bedrooms. The unit itself appears to be in working order with no indications of any leaks. There are two defects noted in the installation. The first defect is the TPF valve does not have an extension pipe leading to the any type of drain meaning if the valve actuates the hot water will be discharged into the living area. The second defect is the gas supply line does not have any sediment trap.
Viewing the gas fired water heater installed in a garage its important to note that the base of the heater must be at least 18" higher than the garage floor. This is due to the fact that garages may contain gasoline, paints or other vaporous materials that could explode when exposed to the flame of a water heater.
The image i have chosen to discuss is a standard B-vent. As opposed to an L-vent, the B-vent has both interior and exterior lining. This allows the B-vent to withstand greater amounts of heat, as well as reduce the amount of heat given off.
The image I reviewed was called “Contaminated Water”, and it illustrated the importance of not allowing cross connections. A cross connection is when a hose, pipe, or any other material used to discharge fluid is in contact with water that can be siphoned back into the system.
this picture shows the clearances of mechanical draft and direct bent sysems. a mechanical draft venting system shall terminate at least 3 feet above any forced air inlet with 10 feet, based on btu rating determins the distance the vvent can be located from an air opening into the building.
P trap to S trap image, this shows in two clear pictures how the s trap will create a self syphen to clear the trap and allow sewer gases into the building, the p trap will all ways have water in the trap unless the water evaperates.
