Romex connectors

I catch a lot of grief over calling out Missing Romex Connectors in the distribution Panel. How much of a safety issue are they?

They provide a few functions, one they close up the open portion of the KO and two they secure the cable to the enclosure. If the cable is properly stapled within 12" then IMO the first function is more important than the second.

Its the law ,Now if there was a fire started inn the area of the panel the Fire inspector might jump on the missing connector and say this could be where the fire started the sharp metal might have cut through the insulation .
I would never ignore the missing Connector and write it up CYA all the time .

Roy is being a bit dramatic but I always call out missing connectors.

If you are getting grief, find better educated agents to work with.

ROY is a DRAMA QUEEN

Thanks Roy for your answer. You are obviously from the Old School. Thanks Mike
