Docapole, 30 footer.
18 Foot painters pole or 30’ Docapole, the docapole gets a bit wobbly when extended and is aluminum.
As per the camera I did as mentioned earlier, old paint roller and a bolt. Attached a flashlight if needed. I use a GoPro mostly and my phone the see and capture images. Use on a smaller pole to insert into tanks or difficult to reach areas.
That’s what I use, an old paint roller that threads onto the end of a 24 foot pole. I stream video to my phone from my GoPro camera.
I use the 25ft docapole with the Fuji Finepix camera with wifi. It takes great shots and you can zoom in and out using the remote functions on your phone.
Wow that was very impressive… No use 4it at the present time however’ saved info for potential future projects. Thank you Nicholas SO KOOL!!

You’re requesting help from people that haven’t been on the forum in 2-4 years.
Perhaps you should wait to launch your business until you are ready.
Or at least join Internachi so Members can have at least a little bit of assurance they aren’t wasting their valuable time with someone not willing to commit to the industry, and only taking a ‘test drive’!
Hello Joseph, it seems you have some experience with viewing tech to help with inspection. I am new to this. Does inspectors use cameras lidar tech for inspection where a roof can not be reached and a drone can not be used?
Hi Gerard, every inspection is different. I climb the roof if I can the majority of the time. Even steep roofs I use the roof ladder pictured below the majority of the time. I use a drone infrequently, usually on extreme pitches. The camera pole has its own issues. When extended, it is difficult to keep steady.
I find my Insta 360 x3 on a pole is super steady, much having to do with the camera stabilization. I do enough new builds where you aren’t allowed on the roof that this works for me.
I have a 24 foot pole, but I rarely go past 18 foot.
That’s easy for you to say Brother Mark, at my age I’m shaking without holding anything!
I have a ferret camera, what camera do you use to attach to the docapole? Do you suggest I purchase the extension swivel head for docapole, or will ferret cam thread into the end?

Isn’t the Ferret a boroscope type camera? Not a camera for a roof, I imagine.
I’ve used it for single story roofs and was able to get great photos of vents/ boots that needed replaced. My camera package came with an adjustable (flexible) camera “neck” that I bend to a little less than 90degrees so I’m not staring at the sky
I have a ferret pro and am looking into docapole, trying to make sure the threads are compatible to attach
I have this one:
It comes with a 1/4-20 adapter which will fit any modern camera.
The pole is fine with my 360 camera on it. I’ve posted a few videos with it. No fuss, no muss.
Great! Thank you for sharing with me!
