I recently subscribed with Service Magic and recieved 1 contact. I called the prospective client and followed up by email. No response. I contacted Service Magic to find out how long they take in processing leads before they are sent along to a Home Inspector. Their response was it can take up to 72 HOURS!!! Seems like a waste and I am already sorry I got involved with them. Beware to anyone else considering this service. When you recieve the lead, you don’t know when the request was made.

Ok there jhagarty can we get a name to go with the face?
I have heard a considerable amount of negative about this company. Sorry, for $50 a year plus the $10 per lead I don't think you should be complaining just yet. Everyone around here is just waiting to see what exactly what this company is like.
I have heard that if you call them you go into the endless message loop and never really manage to speak with another human being on the other end!

Can someone who knows how to put up a poll ask the question about ServiceMagic. Thumbs up? Thumbs down? We are supposed to be a member-driven/internet-run association. Let’s decide about ServiceMagic here.

We know that consumers prefer to meet and get estimates from at least 3 professionals in order to make an informed decision on whom to hire. Sometimes they choose to hire the first agent they meet. Keep in mind that they do have your contact and company information on hand to use for future needs. We do give a standard 10% discount of your total monthly lead accept fees at the end of each month. We appreciate your comments and are continuously enhancing our system thanks to feedback from our service professional and consumers.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please don?t hesitate to contact me.

Hi guy’s, day late- dollar short, that is my impression of Service Magic, we work in an area that is so time sensitive due to P & S agreed time scales for inspection, that a 3 day lag between inquiry and potential response, kills any chance of doing the work, I was going to join them, but no chance now with what I’ve been hearing.

I did a 14 day free trial with them and it was a waste of time. I got 1 leade for someone who wanted a home remodeled. Not quite what we are looking for. I spoke to another local inspector who has been using them for about 4 months, got 3 leads and no jobs in 4 months. Service Magic has a great position on the web but it does not do the inspection business much good if any at all. I even think I saw a few negative comments @ inspectionnews.com’s message board about Service Magic.
Bottom line, unless I start to hear of great success stories close to where I live, my money will stay in my woman’s pocket book, unless she lets me use some of it.

My name is Sam and I am new to home inspections but I am not new to the construction business. I recently enrolled in service magic and I have yet to recieve a lead. Since I have been in the commercial and residential construction business for about 15 years they are going to have to prove their worth to me its all about the bottom line.

I have been with dealing with Service Magic for approximately a year. I have received about 10 leads from them and I have gooten 5 jobs out of it all. I personally paid 99.00 to get started and 10.00 a lead. I have made approximately 1300.00 in the past year off them. I have one pending right now. I am not sure who is in control of the Lead Department but I also will be willing to travel two hours away too. I am not sure if this has anything to do with it.
Yes, when I first got started it was rough and slow but as I said I made 1300.00.

I agree with Gerry B. My business is time sensitive, 72 hrs. would put me under. I schedule inspections to be done with in 48 hrs. and some times 24 hrs. that is one of the key selling points of my business I can serve my customers needs rapidly. 90% of my business starts with a phone call wanting me to do an inspection the following day even if it is 100 miles away.

I also agree with Gerry B., my business is time sensitive too. I give my clients a 24-48 hour window. I was just sharing that I have made some money with this company but I also had to call and complain to thier representive about I paid X amount of money and was not happy with thier service to me. Then it changed.

Just like Nachi offer services but many more options. Nachi offers Home Inspectors and Service Magic offers many others. It is just another way to get referrals. As I said I have made some money.
Is the best? Probably not but it is an avenue. There is another company starting in November out of Florida, just as Service Majic wants money first.
I think one thing we as Nachi members need to do is have a National Add in all areas to advertise the Nation Association of Certified Home Inspectors. I know in this area it is all new. Everyone knows Ashi but not NACHI. Along with my business I promote Nachi. I tell people I belong to Nachi so Real Estate Salespeople know Nachi is for the Home Inspectors to make their services better.
Not to get off the Subject but I think we as Service Magic needs a National Advertisement.
