Correct, I fallowed the12 gauge wire back to the panel and it had no other junction boxes. 20ft of wire from electrical box to breaker.
You are right because I can’t center the outlet and drill a hole in a blank cover plate because I will not have the screw in points for the outlet on the the electrical box
K, if you abandon the rest in line, dedicated it is. You could also buy a split duplex receptacle, power one side fill the box with another duplex dummy (not connected) kinda backwoods but so is modifying a cover plate.
I vote best answer.
And they are in Stock…https://www.kyleswitchplates.com/combo-duplex-outlet-single-1-62-20a-round-receptacle-cover-plate/ If you have seperate circuits, one for the duplex and another for the single, this would be the way to go and still have use of the duplex receptacle.
Good source to know about. Thanks for posting Larry.
Yes, definitely. Good find Larry
What is wrong with a single gang plate?

Greg has a 2-gang box in the wall, from what I understand.
I thought it was the other way around. Then what Larry M. posted would be the way to go.
I appreciate the guidance from everyone, very helpful.
Yup, that would be the way to go, if he leaves the duplex receptacle dead.
Otherwise, what Rob posted is for the real dedicated circuit, with what Greg has existing:
You are correct! What Rob posted is actually what I need, the picture Larry posted could be used but only if I leave the outlet dead! That is correct thank you
Remember that if you are using an existing circuit, you would need to disconnect all of the upstream and downstream receptacles to meet the manufacturer’s requirement of a dedicated receptacle. This could leave a lot of non-functional receptacles leftover from the old circuit depending on how many receptacles currently share the circuit.
Yes you are right, This box I am working on is all that came off of the circuit breaker. I fallowed the wire from the breaker to the electrical box and there were no other junction boxes and the wire dead ends into the box I am going to install the 20 amp receptacle. It is weird that it was the only outlet coming off of this breaker, but that was the case.
Do not know how you followed a cable in a wall assembly but so be it.
It, the circuit, would be traced to first point of termination upstream.
Manufacturers requires a dedicated circuit and disconnect. Tanning bed.
Long string for this type of question.
I fallowed the wire down a floor joist then it dropped into a hallow core of cinder block, it was actually very simple to fallow, yes I got lucky with this one
Yeah you’ll need a Double gang and a single receptacle plate.
Assuming an individual branch circuit.
You can install a single 15 on:
Branch Circuit, General-Purpose. A branch circuit that
supplies two or more receptacles or outlets for lighting and
appliances.
Mike what am I missing? The last two on my list could be general purpose branch circuits.
