Done for two reasons.

  1. Nobody wants Oatmeal For Brains as POTUS for another 4 years. This is just another of the Left’s efforts to prepare for removing him at the DNC if they decide to.
  2. Snopes is trying to regain some credibility so when they lie about Trump before this election others can claim that Snopes doesn’t always provide false fact checks.

Snopes never got much right in the past so I would not expect them to turn around in the near future.

Agreed. They cannot help themselves because they are not journalists; they are activists, and they do not really even know it. They have a huge bias blind spot.
