I know that this question has come up quite a bit in the past, but I still have questions as to which software I should use for reports. There seem to be so many to choose from within a wide range of prices.
Many of them claim to be custumizable (if that is a word), but I am not sure how necessary that really is.
I have received a couple demo models, but without actually using them extensively, I am afraid that I may not choose the most appropriate program.
Just taking a poll, what programs are you using and do you feel that it is appropriate for you? Is the value worth the cost?

Another satisfied ReportHost customer. The best part for you? Try it for free (25 full reports for non-members, members get 30) Not a demo version, but the full thing.

Reporthost here…
Those of you with reporthost…did you customize your report to go by rooms or did you leave it like the default…Thinking about changing it up and reporting the inspection by rooms so it’s easier to read and determine where the problem areas are. Right now the default just has interior rooms as a broad report item.

Kevin, et al,
Actually, the intent of the "interior room" category is to create as many as you need as you write the report. When you create the section, you can modify its name to something like "Master Bedroom" or "Utility Room". When you're done annotating that room, you can create another one. Each just has to have a unique name.
This allows you to have all of your interior room concerns available no matter what the room type. Why? Well, remember that cool master with a wet bar in the bedroom? Might need some plumbing concerns usually found in the bathroom or kitchen.
You can do this with any other section, too. That means that in those large houses with more than one water heater, you can have a section for each, perhaps named "Water Heater Upstairs" and "Water Heater Basement".
Scott
ps: When you look at the sample report you'll see multiple water heaters and multiple interior rooms, named "Kitchen", "Master Bedroom" and "Main Full Bath". slh

Has anyone tried eyecandy software? I like the features but dont like the crayon look. I am lookinf for a reporting software program that acts like eye candy. With a report like it, no report should take more than 20 minutes tops. I am not interested in an on line only report, or paying $5.00 each time I need to right a report. I have a pretty good report format if anyone is interested in it they can contact me. If anyone has any suggestions on a reporting software similar to eyecandy please let me know. The downloadable eye candy from NACHI is only a demo and not a complete version, it wasted my time. Looking for help in this area. Thanks, Michael
