Curious… Where have these been Calibrated, as they are over 10 years old and Sun won’t touch (provide support) for them?
They’re calibrated by Sun Radon and they do still provide support for them. You may be confusing them with the 1027.
They do still calibrate them. The only thing I’ve heard is that if the units are over 10 years old, they will not repair them if they need work, regardless of what model they are. I started out with a few 1028s, but quickly tired of carrying an extension cord.
I don’t know about that. They replaced a part in one of my 1028s last year.
I keep a short extension cord in each of my cases. Only hassle with that is ensuring the receptacle has power once all the light switches are turned off, as some switch receptacles for floor lamps. But I agree…the ability to run on battieries is helpful.
