SpectacularHIS Inspection Software

Hi, I’m using the SpectacularHIS Inspection software and recently posted a question to the owner/developer to migrate my library to a format I could retain for export purposes for another inspection software. I have built a library over the years. The owner/developer fobbed me off saying they don’t provide this service. Does anyone else experience such a bad service from a software vendor?

what format are they and what do you need them to be? i don’t use software for inspections but am writing my own and may be able to help convert your library for you. i’ll also be looking for beta testers in a couple of months if you’re willing.

I’d be asking the new software provider to convert the template to their format, not the company I was leaving.

Exactly!
They have zero incentive to assist you in “leaving” their service for the competition.
Basically, your narratives are being held hostage. The more difficult it is for you to take them, the longer you will be forced to remain as their client!

Hi Tim, simple Excel format will do, but the guy was actually quiet rude in his response to me

Can’t agree more - 7000 comments and tempaltes over several years and the simply give you the *&^% finger

Why doesn’t your new software company provide a way to merge them over?

you can export in a .csv format but what are they in now? i can give it a try and see what i can find out.

Watching a tutorial about this software, they say they can import other lists, so I would imagine another company could export those lists from Shis. Then again, the way you have to set everything up, it may not be possible. Hence Jeffs comment about you being held hostage…

if they export the reports to html at all you can turn them into docx easily with a python script. xml tags are easy to work with. i wrote one that turns my reports into html in about 3 seconds. it should be just as easy to go the other way, probably easier to just grab the narratives.

Hi Tim, not being a techy maybe this will help

thanx, but i’m not the one needing the conversion, i was replying to the one who needed it done. i could do it easily from the webpage if the reports are in that format, and a little harder but still within a few seconds from a docx or most other formats, taking it from a pdf will most likely not work well and introduce formatting problems. appreciate the link though, it may be useful for op looking to import their reports.
