I think it went well. Not an overthrow of the world’s most powerful nation, of course. No guns or knives brought to the protest. Statistically peaceful. And correctly protesting government in the right venue, where government is. Now let’s just hope they prosecute that one murderous po po wannabee who apparently never read the Constitution for shooting an un-armed, veteran female.
"U.S. Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman, whose pursuit by a mob inside the Capitol was the subject of a viral video, has said that but for police restraint in the use of force, the riot “could have easily been a bloodbath,” a sentiment echoed by several officers on the witness stand in Jan. 6 criminal trials.
Defendants have said as much as well. In video evidence played at his trial, Guy Reffitt of Wylie, Tex., said that as he stood near the front of the mob on the west side of the Capitol, he counted eight firearms carried by five people.
Reffitt said that his count included his .40-caliber pistol and his Texas companion’s .45-caliber handgun, five firearms carried by a couple he met at the Capitol and a .22-caliber weapon carried by a woman who stopped to help him after he was hit with bear spray. Reffitt was found guilty in March of encouraging one of the first surges by the mob to overwhelm police while carrying his semiautomatic handgun in a hip holster."

There were plenty of guns found in trucks, cars etc. parked nearby including protestors who were protesting against Trump’s rally.
From your provided document.
While responding to the reports of explosive devices in the area, United States Capitol Police (“USCP”) officers saw the handle of a firearm on the front right passenger seat of the defendant’s truck.
And on Capitol grounds during the protest. Saying there were not any, is really showing the blind side of what some want to see, think or believe. Really scary!
Want they want you to believe is that guns were carried onto the field or inside the building. Never happened. But, people had guns in their cars. As do I and many Americans.
As with any protest, a lot of things could have happened.
Guns were on the grounds, if you see what I posted above. Inside has never been proven. The fact that someone says “no guns or knives” were present at the “protest”, is false. Prove me wrong!
Trump was told that supporters at Jan 6 rally had weapons, but ‘didn’t f***ing care’, panel hears
11,941 views Jun 28, 2022 Former president Donald Trump was aware that some of his supporters were armed with guns and knives before he ordered them to march on the Capi…
So then why can’t anyone on the planet earth post a video of all these insurgents with their guns in the Capitol??? I must have seen thousands of images of people taking videos and selfies, surely if there was an armed mob in the Capitol, someone somewhere would have captured it on video. There wasn’t. The few guns that were brought were stowed away properly in the owner’s vehicles. Not one shot fired by the protestors, not one.
Exactly. If they were planning on using guns to overthrow the government, they wouldn’t have decided to properly leave them in their vehicles before proceeding to the Capitol.
The protestors didn’t fire a shot. Arguably the most legal, peaceful protest of government in our history.
Not a single person in the crowd on January 6 was found to be even carrying a firearm, let alone discharging one. Not one. And the head of the FBI confirmed this under oath, which I saw him do, live. Like I said, for the issue they were protesting and the size of the crowd, one should expect horrific violence, fires, gunshot wounds, etc. None of that occurred, or very little relatively. Arguably the most peaceful exercise of a group’s First Amendment rights in history.
With regard to your first link: I know a little bit about criminal charges. You aren’t charged with assault if you shoot someone. You’re always charged with attempted murder. He didn’t assault anyone with a gun. He didn’t ever discharge it. He didn’t even brandish it!
With regard to your second link. Read it slower. He brought them to the “Washington, D.C. area.” So did I. I took the Boy Scouts from Philly to D.C. on a trip to show them D.C. I took a gun. Those Scouts had parents that entrusted me with their children and so of course I went packed. I had 20 Scouts with me and so more guns per person (by far) than the Jan 6 protestors. Was I overthrowing the world’s largest nation too? Don’t be absurd. If you had links to images and videos of an armed mob inside the Capitol shooting people, you’d have posted them. You don’t. I should just let you argue my positions from now on. You did a better job than anything I could have mustered.
Face it. Statistically one the most peaceful exercises of a group’s First Amendment right to protest government in the correct venue (where government works) in all of U.S. history. Apparently they obeyed Trump when he publicly said to “peaceably protest and let your voices (not gun shots) be heard.”
Just a little history knowledge would put things in perspective. In fact, extreme pressure, threats or other tactics have been common forever. It took 7 days for Congress to place Jefferson in office. Now all of the sudden, “it’s a threat to democracy”
“There was talk that Virginia would secede if Jefferson were not elected. Some Republicans declared they would convene another constitutional convention to restructure the federal government so that it reflected the “democratical spirit of America.” It was rumored that a mob had stormed the arsenal in Philadelphia and was preparing to march on Washington to drive the defeated Federalists from power. Jefferson said he could not restrain those of his supporters who threatened “a dissolution” of the Union. He told Adams that many Republicans were prepared to use force to prevent the Federalists’ “legislative usurpation” of the executive branch.”
These are the same politicians who let our cities burn and attack our police, federal buildings, and businesses; all the while telling us the frustration of the rioters was understandable and should be tolerated. Our country was certainly in peril then. Imagine if the police had justifiably just walked off the job? imagine if these politicians were held responsible for not quelling the riots?
