Inspected a house yesterday with some bad electrical work. When I plugged two appliances/lights into the kitchen outlet the stove completely shut off. If only one appliance was plugged in the stove worked. Any ideas why the stove is shutting off.

Maybe too much on the circuit. The stove is plugged into a wall outlet that it shouldn’t be. The stove should be on its own circuit. I am assuming it is an electric stove, of course, and the breaker is tripping.

Had a similar issue in my last house.

Check it with a meter, 120 VAC. Put a load on it, 0 VAC.

It was a bad neutral-ground bond.
