I am a new homeowner and received a letter in the mail from a sump pump installation company saying that my pump needs inspection and it will cost $300. Am I getting scammed? The pump looks rather new and has a backup and the pump has worked in several heavy rain storms with no issues
Sounds strange to me never saw any letters like this before .
You can REPLACE your pump for $300. What does that tell you?
If you have a system installed by one of the “basement Waterproofing” companies that provide a “warranty” you may be required to pay for an annual inspection to keep the warranty in effect. Did the old owner have a system installed from one of these companies?
You’re only getting scammed if you fall for the solicitation - don’t.
