Are those SE cables or a feeder on the load side of the disconnect?

It is wrong no matter what but if these are actually service conductors you ratchet the danger up a few notches.

This needs further evaluation, no matter what.

Well the line fuse finally burnt through so I was out of power for awhile. Not long, good response time.

Greg, that is a feeder on the load side of the disco. Thanks for your reply.

John, those look like THHN and do require a raceway system, along with a box for the tap. If they are USE they don’t belong in the house at all.

Why can’t the USE be in a house? My mind must fail me icon_redface.gif

I know it is not ideal, but what dangers exist?

USE conductors are not required to have flame retardent insulation.

It has been quite awhile since I've seen cable that is only rated as USE. Nowadays, most cables are dual rated USE/RHW and would be allowed indoors.
