LOL I had the same situation on a Stove. I was changing the pigtail on the back and when I removed the cover there was a hugh black snake probably about 5 ft long wrapped around the head and connections for the pigtail. talk about fried and fire hazard.

I almost always find those when the main panel is on the exterior of the house, and also in the A/C disconnects!
They also get stuck and smashed inbetween the awning window panes.
I hear they taste like chicken!
