Toyota is killin’ it.

Looks like a deal on slightly used prestige cars.
I mean if you just want to get from place to place reliably for low cost you’d get a Toyota Prius Plug In Hybrid. But what fun is that?

Nobody’s really buying these vehicles. Yes some vehicles may be slow sellers some may be fast sellers. It appears everybody is buying trucks.

Those aren’t trucks.

They are sedans with open trunks that sit up a little bit higher, get lousy fuel economy and don’t handle all that well but hey you can brag “I dRiVe a TrUck”. Right up until they put 6 bags of mulch in the trunk and fold up the frame.

The #1 selling vehicle is a F150
The #2 selling vehicle is a Chevy Silverado

So what is your definition of a truck?

According to car and driver so far in 2024 900,000 of these two models have been sold. Sure sounds like a lot of people are buying trucks, regardless of your definition.

A vehicle that is used to do work that involves getting things done more than just a personal transport.

You can haul more in a Suburban than you can in that truck. I can haul 10 foot pieces of lumber INSIDE my Honda CRV. Good luck doing that with that “truck”.

I’m not saying they aren’t popular, I’m not saying they don’t scratch an itch. My issue is trucks do work, often in harsh conditions. Sedan’s with open trunks haul people and never touch dirt.

I followed a “truck” the other day with this dinky little 5 step ladder on this headaches presumably because he couldn’t haul it in his anemic little 4.5 foot bed.

I don’t know what kind of truck you’re driving, but my truck will haul more than any suburban wagon.

Now you’re claiming your Honda CRV has more capacity for certain things like a little piece of wood trim. OK

I don’t think that CRV can even hold one of my tires.

Looks like my not a real truck has double the cargo capacity of a “real truck” suburban. Just saying.

You’re comparing a 3/4 ton truck.

I’m talking about these 1/2 ton abominations with 4.5 foot beds and MEGA CABS.

Go ahead and get that trim inside your truck. I’ll wait.

There’s a little over 2 tons of QP in a real truck. It has snow plow front springs and several helpers in the rear.

That would crush those little pussy “trucks”.

And how much stuff do you bring to a home inspection?
I mean, my Suburban even has room for the dogs…

Suburban bike that is.

That’s not what you said. Anyway, I’m sure that Honda CRV is an amazing vehicle. Or that suburban wagon.

You read something into it then. I’ve been pretty consistent about my dislike for those light duty “trucks” with open itty bitty trunks and gigantic cabs that don’t do work. Well, they get groceries I suppose.
