I’m pleased that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service approved my application to host a family of Ukrainian refugees. It was a long application process, similar to adopting children since I’ll be their sole means of support.
I never met them until today when I picked them up at the airport. The wife, Natalia, speaks a little English. The others don’t. And I only speak English (Ebonics, mostly), so communication is going to be difficult. They all seem very nice.
They will be living with us in our home for at least a year.
